Guggenheim Helsinki

Guggenheim Helsinki seeks to democratize art through exposure and make art an integral part of the public space. As the main architectural gesture, we propose an extensive roof poised above the art collection and public space. The shear extent and size of the roof transcends the traditional boundary between interior and exterior space. The ambition was to create a Nordic Guggenheim Museum in Helsinki that will become a urban living room with a beautiful view of the harbor – and a place that brings cityscape, public space and art together into one cohesive cultural hub.
