Sandnes is an industrial harbor city in the southwestern part of Norway, and is the fastest growing city in the country. The urban fabric consists of a mix of historical industrial buildings and newer structures from different periods. Our project consists of four additions to an existing structure; a hotel, a 13-story office tower, a cinema and a restaurant. The project aims at re-establishing a pedestrian connection between the western and eastern part of the city. This connection is made possible by building higher, and leaving precious urban space free for a passage and an city plaza.
