Finnskogen – ”Forest of the Finns” is the name of the forest region close to the Swedish border in the County of Hedmark in Norway. The name derives from an extensive immigration of Finnish people in the 17th century, and the area still bears traces of this culture in its building tradition. The forest stretches from Solør on the Norwegian side in the west, and Värmland on the Swedish side in the east.
